Here's my asking (demanding?) for the day: please keep it up! I love reading your blog, and the year-long experiment is a great idea. Perhaps foisting ritual on yourself is, dare I say it, asking something of yourself?

Huh. Perhaps you just asked your audience for permission to take a day off. That counts ;)

You know, I've been feeling exactly the same way lately. I'm halfway through my year, and while my topic is much more passive, I'm wondering how many more elementary school friends I can write about before the internet beats me with a stick.

One thing that's helped me is making a list of all the folks I want to write about. That way, when it comes to crunch time, I'm not at a complete loss. Maybe that would help you, too...if you have a few minutes, list some questions you could ask, and then look for situations in which you could ask them.

I've been out of [normal] touch for a while, but I agree with lisette about your blog being an excellent idea and a fun read.

Also, it must have had a good role bringing that assertiveness out of you. It will definitely help you in the future as well. Don't forget: you still have a car to buy :)

Rituals, whether a phone call, lunch, week-end get-[400 km]-away helped me go through grad school. They smoothed out daily operation, and - foremost - divided the time into manageable chunks.
